As the founder of Heekin Strength, my goal was to combine fun and fitness in one-to-one or small group training sessions across West London.
Coming from a sporting background I’m a firm believer that teamwork and motivation can help you achieve your goals.
I’ve always been interested in sport since a young age and played a high standard of rugby at Richmond RFC. While there I was exposed to strength and conditioning training for the first time. I really enjoyed my time playing at an elite level and working with the S&C coaches as well as backroom nutritionists and Physios. I liked it so much that I applied that experience and training to an amateur Sunday league football team, Chefchaouen Berbers FC, who went on to have very successful campaigns following my fitness programs and regular training sessions.
This experience along with qualifications I’ve gained over the years in First Aid and Manual Handling drove me to complete a Health and Exercise Science degree at St Mary's University, Twickenham.
During my degree, I gained qualifications in health skills, First Aid and fitness instruction, studied modules in nutrition; for health and exercise and health psychology and gained a Level 3 certificate in Personal Training. I also took positions as an S&C coach for a rugby team and professional boxing outfit during this time.

A 30 minute free talk about my product and services, and how they can benefit you, in this discussion I will ask about your goals. From this talk I will explain how by working together we can achieve them. This can take place in person(preferred) or via phone or video call at a allocated time.
This Sessions asses where you are physically and what types of exercise you might respond best to. Its not a test but a beginner session to see where you are and most importantly where you are going to go.
We also will go through your nutrition, and asses what type of plan is best for you and how it will help you achieve your goals. This Session session lasts from 60-90 mins.
Depending on your level commitment we offer a 6 week programme of 2 or 3 sessions a week with the prices changing accordingly. You will be kept In regular contact with myself your progress monitored throughout the whole experience. I offer 100% guarantee that results will be achieved during this time.
The 8 week programme not only helps you get in shape but will hopefully educate you on how to train Independently. This runs with the options of 2/3 sessions a week However I recommend you go for 3 if you are serious about getting in shape.

My sporting background has given me an advantage to help teams turn there season around, through specific sports related training in there pre/during season. This can be achieved on the pitch and in the gym or a combination of both.
I have worked with various Sunday/Saturday leagues teams to improve their team’s fitness in pre and throughout the season. This isn’t just constant running I incorporate the pivotal points of football into the fitness regime to make the exercises more enjoyable this improves team moral which leads to better performance.
As player myself who played to national standard, I am vitally aware of the importance of a correct Strength program for a rugby player, apart from improving performance this also reduces the risk of injuries throughout the season. This will be a combination of both field and gym sessions with tailored programs featured to their position this combined with rugby specific cardiovascular training will improve the teams all round performance in all areas of the game.
As a Veteran of 6 Boxing contest and under the teaching of former Boxing Coach/Founder of State of mind fitness Barry O’Conell I have applied my knowledge to both professional and white color fighters. The use of weight training in boxing has to be on point whilst not putting a hindrance on the rest of your training. But with my training you will be hitting like a freight train and have the stamina to match.
I have been working with Patrick Heekin for 6 weeks now. We meet two to three times a week for training sessions. Each session focuses on a different area such as; core, high intensity interval training, cardio, and weight training. Each session is planned meticulously by Patrick and his enthusiasm for exercise and sport shines through.
Throughout our time working together Patrick's expertise, demonstration of exercise and applied knowledge have helped me progress in meeting my goals which included becoming fitter, weight loss, muscle tone and general confidence when exercising.
Over the weeks I have gone from barely being able to run for 5 minutes to being able to push through the pain and keep going. The programme Patrick developed for me has ensured that I have been able to see results over the weeks and under his guidance, I feel motivated to continue exercising.
When I retired last summer, I knew I needed to do something to keep me fit and active. One of the things I did was to ask Pat Heekin to provide me with a regular one-to-one training session in my home. This turned out to be the best decision I have ever made in regard to my physical fitness. Pat has provided me with programmes which have been challenging but manageable, and has supported me while I work through them. Not only has this increased my fitness and flexibility but it has been done in the privacy of my own home. It has been so successful that other members of my family have started sessions with Pat. The work we do with Pat is demanding – but with his encouragement we have risen to the challenge, and feel much better for it.

In addition, I appreciate his attention to detail with warm ups and warms downs, As a operations manager I am constantly on my feet and feel a lot better after our sessions, whereas before Dom’s, would be a hindrance to myself at work. His nutritional knowledge helps as well, and I have noticed better recovery and performance from his advice.

Patrick Heekin, Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Chefchaouen Berbers, has made a big difference since joining team. Since his introduction, training has become more focussed, with a dedicated programme for each player identifying strengths, weaknesses and personal goals from the very start of pre-season. This is not something that has happened before at the Berbers - and it certainly impacted in performances.
What has impressed me most with Patrick is his skill in coaching those of varied ability. From those with a good residual fitness, through to those who are mere beginners, Patrick has found a way to motivate each man, and ensure steady progress.
His introduction of a warm up and stretching process prior to all matches has been most welcome. The sessions are varied (keeping people on their toes) and ensure that we start games from the first whistle - rather than taking 10-15 minutes to settle in, as had been the case in the past.
Warm downs have also been a healthy addition. Not only do they make Mondays a lot easier (!), they have improved team bonding as a result of players staying around after games and talking to one another.
Patrick was a big help to the Berbers in 2014/15 and will be again in the 2015/16 season..
Patrick Joined are coaching team through Serge Betsen rugby. Immediately Patrick Started implementing a Strength and conditioning aspect to the colts training which hadn’t been done before We have struggled a lot with strength around the ruck area and being turned over whilst trying to hold onto possession
Patrick immediately brought in exercises such as wrestling drills, and sports specific movements which have transpired onto the pitch significantly our team is able to match our opposition better and this has resulted in some victories.
Aside from this Patrick has improved the boy’s cardiovascular fitness often running rugby fitness sessions incorporating cardiovascular endurance with sprints and rugby specific drills critiqued to slightly harder so the boys are learning whilst also developing match fitness.
Aside from the S&C Patrick has a natural authority when coaching the boys, they listen to him and have very productive sessions. He also can train in any environment and has helped some players individually with skills and personal player development.
I would recommend Patrick as a Strength and conditioning coach for any rugby club at any age group.
I first started working with Patrick of Heekin strength 2 months before my 6th fight. I wasn’t too familiar with strength and conditioning however under Patricks guidance he explained the type of training we would be doing before every session. Patrick ensured that myself and other pro fighters were warmed up properly and focused first on proper form and technique before any type of lifting.
This approach was welcomed by myself and the other fighters as little details that not paid attention to can affect a fighter’s progress throughout camp. Each session with Patrick was challenging yet manageable and I felt very strong going into my fight
Patrick is very good at using any type of equipment available and incorporating sports specific movement to our training his knowledge of exercise science and applying it to his work is very apparent.

Patrick is has been my personal coach for 2 years now. We meet once a week for one hour In addition to my own training . With Patrick I focus on long term health and fitness.
Patrick is a great coach preparing personal session every week with a very bespoke approach. His healthcare training makes him very conscious about your health and injuries which makes his training very safe.
During lock down, as I don't want to lose the momentum, he proposed to me online session via social media. This has worked brilliantly and has maintained our training frequency.

We identified early on in the season that we were being outmatched in a number of physical confrontations throughout the game. The main key areas where we were inferior were the breakdown area as well as the tackle situation:
Break Down – We were conceding many turnovers due to lack of strength over the ball.
Tackle Situations – We were missing too many tackles by not having the upper body strength to complete a tackle successfully.
We assigned Patrick as our strength and conditioning coach which deemed a very positive move for the club. He immediately included two new aspects to our training programme:
He incorporated a weekly weights session prior to our training session, this included a number of weights exercises for upper and lower body strength in a circuit. Considering the lack of equipment, Patrick still made it an effective, varied and challenging workout where I personally felt weekly improvement on my physical strength.
Patrick aimed for the players to build up their match day physical strength and toughness by introducing a number of contact exercises into our training programme. These exercises would not only improve our strength; they were rugby relevant exercises that got us conditioned to the physical challenges we were experiencing in matches.
After a number of weeks, we started to compete more in physical engagements throughout matches which resulted in less tackles missed and less turnovers conceded. This ultimately led to less tries being conceded.
I would recommend Patrick highly, not only for his understanding of S&C but his positive attitude, commitment and overall helpfulness will guarantee that he is an asset for any team.
I have been training with Heekin Strength since February 2020, Patrick really knows his stuff. He is really flexible with the delivery of his sessions and can adapt to my changing needs whether I am wanting to focus or strength, speed or general fitness. I've been training with Heekin Strength for a number of years and recently committed to a more intense training plan; the improvement since I first started is quite noticeable and has really been amplified since I took my training to the next level. My name is Brain Gee and I have been a licenced professional Boxing coach for the pass 6 years. In this time, I have trained various boxers of shapes and sizes and utilized different training methods across weight categories.
Patrick contacted myself about the Strength and Conditioning of the current fighter I coach Daniel Mendez. I had observed Patricks work with previous pros at our gym and was familiar with his work with rugby teams.
I appreciated the fact that Patrick came with a plan that wouldn’t affect any of the other training that I would be doing with my fighter, attention to detail in this sport is vital and can make or break a fighters success.
The sessions were planned out clearly and Incorporated movements and rep ranges that were challenging yet manageable for my fighter. Some of the exercises I was not familiar with, but Patricks clear explanations and demonstrations confirmed that strength in these areas could be effective in a boxing contest.
S&C is still on the fringes of boxing and is still not incorporated into a lot of coaches training schedule due to time constraints and lack of knowledge in this area. However, Patricks methods and background in exercise science enables coaches to incorporate it without it affecting a fighter’s recovery or progress in camp.
I would recommend Patrick to any professional boxing Coach or Boxer or Boxing club.
Personal training session should incorporate, Warm ups and work specifically with your client for what you want . That could be cardiovascular exercises and specific weight training exercises. And should also be fun
